About
So.. you found me.

A recent pic with silly facial hair and distinguishedness.

How Mike looks most of the time.. without that silly thing on his face.
After almost 13 years of owning this domain I’ve decided to finally start a blog on it. It has served numerous purposes over the years and fyodor has offered to buy it. It is the coolest domain ever. Several factors contributed to my decision to start blogging; 1) I’m now a dad with a “real life”, who finds himself taking lots of photos with his great camera 2) I’ve lived in 3 cities very far from each other in the past 5 years and it has given me something to say, and 3) I can be quite clever (alcohol helps). Maybe you and I can become BFF thanks to this blog!
A few things about me. I’m male. I live in the Ravenna neighborhood of Seattle, WA with my lovely wife Lorraine(blog1|blog2|blog3) and Leila the toddler. We’re transplants from New Jersey – except for Leila, who is a Northwest girl. She’ll get to tease her parents about growing up next to smokestacks and refineries some day. I tried my hand in college for a while, then decided to work full-time at 19. I’ve been working ever since – too much in fact. Seattle’s a great place with entrepreneurial spirit, and it has helped me to find something closer to a work/life balance. I’m a co-Founder at Default Route Inc, an IT services company operating in Seattle and NYC.

I've looked like this too - but I never went to med school.
When I’m not working I like to clear my head on the Burke-Gilman trail and spend quality time with family and friends. Things have been pretty exciting lately with the addition of our daughter – family visiting us from the east, us visiting the east, learning how to be parents, growing my business, etc.
I tweet sometimes. You can also find me on LinkedIn. Having my own business and staying connected to my contacts is essential, which makes it a useful tool.
So thanks for stopping by. I’ll be filling up the photo galleries and posting blog rants and raves whenever I feel like it.
